Battery Level – Always 100%

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever..
Hebrews 13:8 (NIV)

We are living in a smart phone world. Every other person now wants to have a smart phone. The first phone my parents bought me was a Nokia 2300 which for many younger than me is a model which they have never heard about. It didn’t have much features but we could bet on one thing – it will not hang and when we need it, you have enough battery power to make the call.

Smart phones comes with umpteen number of features. We get so addicted to it. For it is colourful and attractive to our eyes. But playing with it sometimes makes us realize that the real purpose for which the phone is, that is to make calls we are not able to. Play a game for an hour or so and you see your battery dripping down. Browse your facebook account for an hour and the battery level starts receding. Many companies have come with lots of promises and assurances but in the end all are the same.

It is said of Napoleon that while he was reviewing his army one day, his horse became frightened at something, and the Emperor lost his rein, and the horse went away at full speed, and the Emperor's life was in danger. He could not get hold of the rein, and a private in the ranks saw it, and sprang out of the ranks towards the horse, and was successful in getting hold of the horse's head at the peril of his own life. The Emperor was very much pleased. Touching his hat, he said to him, "I make you Captain of my Guard."

The soldier  now didn't take his gun. He threw it away, stepped out of the ranks of the soldiers, and went up to where the body-guard stood. The captain of the body-guard ordered him back into the ranks, but he said "No! I won't go!" "Why not?" "Because I am Captain of the Guard." "You Captain of the Guard?" "Yes," replied the soldier. "Who said it?" and the man, pointing to the Emperor, said, "He said it." That was enough. Nothing more could be said. He took the Emperor at his word.

We can not stick to the promises of those in this world but can stick to the assurance of one person who came into the world and did all that he said. My friends, if God says anything, let us take Him at His word. For the Bible says "He that believeth on the Lord Jesus Christ shall not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3.36) What greater assurance do you need than the great promise which says, Even tough we change he will not change his relationship with us. He is the same yesterday, today and forever. If you are in trouble or distressed go to the Lord who is always ready to help you – call and he will answer, knock and he will open it for you, seek and he will make it available for you.
